ELKHORN: Kataryna KASPRUK, 88, formerly of County Trk H, Whitewater died on Wed., March 10, 2010 at Holton Manor in Elkhorn, WI. Kataryna was born on October 10, 1921 in Poland. She married Dmytro Hanec in 1939 while in Poland. Dmytro preceded her in death in 1972. She was then united to Steven Kaspruk in 1974 in Milwaukee. Steven also preceded her in death in 1998. Kataryna was an amazing cook, gardener and seamstress. In the spring and summer she was outside tending to nature, in the winter she was known to be sewing, catching up on things, and the fall she canned everything. Her garden was an amazing creation and was her passion. Kataryna is survived by her son: Dmytro (Dawn) Hanec of Whitewater, grandchildren; Stephanie (John) Swets of Johnstown, WI, Aimee Hanec of Chicago, IL and great-grandchildren Nicklaus, Halle, Jason and Sadie. She is further survived by her sister Marie (Gregory) and other relatives and many good friends. Kataryna is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and two toddler children that died in a fire back in Poland. Mass of Christian Burial will be said for Kataryna on Mon., March 15, 2010 at 11:00AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (107 Walworth St., Elkhorn, WI) with Fr. Jim Jaeger officiating. Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation for Kataryna will be held on Mon., March 15, 2010 from 9:00AM-10:45AM at Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home (730 N. Wisconsin St., Elkhorn, WI).
